Accordingly, the Fits Air flight 8D 821 departed from the Katunayake Airport for Dubai at 01.20 yesterday afternoon, the officer in charge of the Katunayake Airport said.

It is reported that 47 passengers and 10 crew members were on board this flight.

In addition, the Air Arabia flight G-9509 also departed from the Katunayake Airport for Sharjah yesterday afternoon.

The Middle East airspace is being opened for a limited period and it is reported that the aircraft will fly to the Middle East during that period.
