Despite the fact that the Bribery and Corruption Commission is set to investigate allegations of corruption against Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody, Deputy Minister of Labour Mahinda Jayasinghe says he should not resign from his ministerial post.
The Bribery Commission is investigating allegations that the Energy Minister misused Rs. 8 million during his tenure at the Sri Lanka Fertilizer Corporation between 2005 and 2015. He further stated that the offence was committed by two employees under him and that disciplinary action is not expected to be taken against Minister Kumara Jayakody.
