Electricity Board tells what it will do to Adani who asked for compensation

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Energy said that India’s Adani may have to pay between Rs. 300 and 500 million for withdrawing from the Mannar wind power project.

However, he added that this cannot be considered compensation and is only a reimbursement of the initial costs incurred by Adani.

After India’s Adani Green Energy withdrew from two renewable energy projects in the country, Sri Lanka is preparing to pay between Rs. 300 and 500 million for the initial costs incurred by them, the Daily Mirror website had reported, citing high-ranking sources.

Adani withdrew from these projects due to differences of opinion with the current government over the pricing of electricity. Accordingly, the company had sent a letter in May this year requesting reimbursement of the initial costs incurred for the implementation of the projects.
