The Government Medical Officers’ Association has decided to go on a symbolic strike at the Ratnapura Teaching Hospital today (02) to protest the actions of the hospital director.
The Ministry of Health had previously agreed to take necessary steps regarding this issue. However, the Government Medical Officers’ Association points out that these agreements have not been implemented yet.
Therefore, the Government Medical Officers’ Association has planned to go on strike at the Ratnapura Teaching Hospital from 08:00 this morning to 08:00 tomorrow morning.
Despite the strike, emergency and life-saving treatment services will continue to be maintained in the hospital, while all daily treatment services will be disrupted, the association says.
