The National Transport Commission has announced that there will be no revision in bus fares even though fuel prices are reduced with effect from today.
The price revision that occurs monthly according to the fuel price formula was revised for the month of September from midnight yesterday (31). IOC also reduced its fuel prices accordingly.
In the said price revision, the price of a liter of white diesel has been reduced by Rs. 06 for the month of September. Accordingly, the new price of a liter of white diesel is Rs. 283. Although this white diesel is used for buses, commuters are expressing their concern over the lack of reduction in bus fares. In addition, the price of a liter of super diesel, which was Rs. 325, has been reduced by Rs. 12 and the new price is Rs. 313.
Although the price of a liter of 92 octane petrol has been reduced by Rs. 06, three-wheeler owners have not yet made a statement about reducing their fares.
The prices of 95 octane petrol and Rs. kerosene have not been revised.
