“Den sepadha?” asks Ven. Seelarathana Thero to the public.

Ven. Battaramulle Seelarathana Thero states that although the National People’s Power (NPP) strongly opposed the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) in the past, the introduction of an even harsher law today is certainly not out of any love for the people.

He further remarked that the current government, which came to power promising to provide a life of comfort and prosperity, is now subjecting the public to great hardship; hence, he asks, “Are the people comfortable now?” (Den Sepadha)

He noted that the price of petrol has risen above 500 rupees a hike that has made life nearly impossible for the public and added that the current government has failed to bring any benefit to the country since the very day it assumed power.

He made these comments while speaking to the media today (05).
