The Unlawful Assets Investigation Unit says that it will take steps to confiscate properties worth crores of rupees belonging to Dematagoda Ruwan and Karandeniye Sudda, who are said to be two major drug traffickers, within the next two weeks.
Investigations have revealed that these traffickers have earned a lot of money from drug trafficking, including buildings, vehicles and other properties worth crores of rupees.
Accordingly, the necessary steps to take over these properties and confiscate them will be taken over by the government within the next two weeks, police sources say.
A building in Dematagoda town worth over Rs. 780 million belonging to Dematagoda Ruwan is also scheduled to be taken over by the government in this manner.
