The Monaragala High Court has sentenced two suspects to death for the 2002 Thanamalwila quintuple murder case.
On June 6, 2002, several people were shot dead using T-56 firearms and 12-bore guns in the Kithulkote area of Thanamalwila, including a 13-year-old girl.
The death sentence has been carried out against two individuals, Gamage Bandula Harischandra, a resident of Thanamalwila, and Ruwan Prasanna, a resident of Konthetiara and Suriyawewa.
