The Colombo High Court ordered today (28) that the case filed by the Bribery Commission against former Navy Commander Wasantha Karannagoda and Yoshitha Rajapaksa concerning allegations of corruption be taken up for trial on November 23.
This order was issued by Colombo High Court Judge Ravindra Premaratne following the conclusion of the pre-trial conference for the case.
The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption filed this case, alleging that the offense of ‘corruption’ was committed by sending Yoshitha Rajapaksa for training at a Royal Navy training college in the United Kingdom, despite him not possessing the required qualifications.
