A court order to arrest Wimal Weerawansa

The case against 07 people including Member of Parliament Wimal Weerawansa for engaging in a protest when the former chairman of the United Nations Human Rights Commission, Prince Al Hussain, came to Sri Lanka was called before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis issued warrants for the arrest of MP Wimal Weerawansa as he did not appear before the court.

Jayantha Samaraweera, Weerakumara Dissanayake, Roger Seneviratne, Mohammad Mussammil, Piyasiri Wijenayake have been named as other suspects here. The case is scheduled to be called again on June 19. Kurunduwatta Police had filed this complaint.
