Court notice to Fawzi who contracted a skin disease.

The Colombo High Court ordered today (29) to adjourn the case filed by the Bribery Commission against Former Disaster Management Minister A. H. M. Fawsi until May 22.

The former minister was accused of causing a loss of over one million rupees to the government by using a jeep given to the disaster management center by the Netherland government for his personal use.

The case was called before Colombo High Court Judge Navaratne Marasinghe today, and at that time the accused did not appear before the court. The lawyer who appeared for him stated that the accused did not come to court today as he was suffering from a skin disease. The lawyer also submitted a medical report confirming that to the court.

Accordingly, the High Court judge adjourned the case to May 22 and ordered the defendant to appear in court on that day and issue a notice.
