The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested former Senior Deputy Inspector General (SDIG) Priyantha Jayakody.
The arrest was made in connection with a false complaint filed with the CID alleging that he had received death threats from an organised crime gang leader named ‘Kehelbaddara Padme’.
Following his arrest, the former Senior DIG was admitted to the Ragama Hospital due to an illness. He is currently receiving treatment under the custody of CID officers.
