A Chinese woman who was banned from leaving China was arrested by the sri lankan immigration officials at the Katunayake International Airport.
When immigration officials checked her passport, it was found to be a passport that had been declared lost or stolen by the Interpol. Investigations have confirmed that the Chinese woman, the rightful owner of that passport, misplaced it when she came to Sri Lanka in 2017, and then she got a new passport and left Sri Lanka.
Officers then checked her handbag and found her genuine passport. Further investigation of the permit revealed that she was banned from leaving China
