The doctors of the outpatient department of the Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital, Colombo, have started a one-day symbolic strike in protest against the actions of a specialist doctor in the hospital.
The Government Medical Officers’ Association states that due to this strike, the work of the hospital’s outpatient department may be disrupted, but arrangements have been made to continue the emergency response services.
The Ministry of Health has already started an investigation regarding the allegations leveled against this specialist doctor. Ministry sources say that its report is expected to be received this week
