Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Chairman Increases his Salary

Employees of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation say that the new chairman has increased his salary and allowances by double the amount he is entitled to.

Although the medical allowances to Ceylon Petroleum employees have already been cut, the current chairman has also obtained approval through a board of directors’ memorandum to receive unlimited medical allowances and other allowances for his wife and children.

According to a board of directors’ memorandum issued after the decision taken at the board meeting of the Kolonnawa Wholesale and Terminal Services Company (CPSTL) held on October 10, the chairman of the corporation is entitled to a salary of six hundred and twenty-five thousand rupees with all allowances.

“Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Chairman S. Rajakaruna, and that it is in addition to the salary he receives from the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC), Ananda Palitha, the convener of the Samagi Sandhana Joint Trade Union Conference, has told the media.

Ananda Palitha says that the new Managing Director has been appointed as an officer who was dismissed from a gas company in Bangladesh on charges of theft, and that in addition to the salary of five hundred thousand rupees from the CPC, he will receive an allowance of two hundred and fifty-one thousand rupees from the Kolonnawa Board Paper.
