Central Province Governor Lalit U Gamage in a cheeva pooja.

The robes prepared by Niyangoda Peshakarma Center in Kandy using cotton threads were presented to the Maha Nayaka Thero of the Malwathu chapter yesterday.

After repairing the Niyangoda Salusala Center, which had been abandoned for six years without any use, the textile industry activities were resumed there.

This center was re-opened on the intervention of the Central Province Governor, Advocate Lalith U. Gamage, where these robes were prepared using cotton thread. On the intervention of the Governor, the Central Provincial Meat Industry Department and the Salusala Company Limited have planned to present the robes to the Maha Sangha.

Accordingly, the Governor Lalith U. Gamage presented the first set of cheevas to the Maha Nayaka of the Malwathu faction, Most Venerable Thibbatuwe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Thero.

Upali Ranawaka, Secretary of the Central Provincial Industries Ministry, Manjula Madahapola, Secretary to the Governor, Lakshika Ranawira, Assistant Director of the Textile Industry Department, and others joined the event.
