Cabinet decision to allocate two lands in Kataragama and Dematagoda to investors.

The government is preparing to implement the decision taken by the Cabinet to follow a formal procurement process to select suitable investors to be allocated long-term leases for the implementation of land development projects belonging to the Urban Development Authority.

Accordingly, the following land parcels, which have been assigned to the Urban Development Authority under Section 6 (1) of the Government Lands Ordinance, have been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers to follow a procurement process to select suitable investors to be allocated long-term leases based on the valuation of the Government Valuer, in accordance with the planning regulations of the Urban Development Authority. Accordingly, it was decided to allocate the following lands to private investors.

  • Out of the lands acquired for the development of the Sellakataragama city, after allocating the lands required for the proposed city development, 03 plots of land measuring 42.03 perches, 20.28 perches and 20.72 perches respectively, which can be disposed of further, on a long-term lease basis of 50 years.
  • To dispose of the land measuring 03 acres – 2 roods – 24.59 perches from the land located in Dematagoda (537 Wattha) on a long-term lease basis of 99 years.
