BYD, the world’s largest electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has decided to recall more than 115,000 vehicles, according to international media reports.
The recall is being carried out on the grounds that certain measures taken to reduce the production costs of BYD vehicles have led to quality deficiencies, which may lead to technical defects.
Following tests, the two separate recalls targeting both hybrid and pure-electric models were carried out on the 17th, according to international media reports.
The recall includes 44,000 older models of the flagship hybrid Tang series produced between March 2015 and July 2017, and about 70,000 electric Yuan Pro crossovers produced between February 2021 and August 2022.
