A serious accident has occurred when a private bus driving recklessly at a high speed collided with a SLTB bus traveling in the opposite direction in the Carolina estate of Watawala.
Four people travelling in the private bus were injured in the accident that occurred this morning and have been admitted to the Watawala Regional Hospital .. A bus from the Hatton SLTB depot operating from Ginigathhena to Hatton and a private bus operating from Hatton to Kandy were involved in the accident. The private bus has split in two in this accident . Hospital sources say that the condition of the four injured in the accident is not serious.
The Watawala Police urge drivers to be careful while driving on the mountain roads as the prevailing bad weather conditions make them slippery. The Watawala Police are conducting investigations into the accident.
