Former Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam has been arrested.
This was after he appeared before the Commission this morning (05) for an investigation conducted by the Bribery or Corruption Commission.
He has been arrested for recruiting 04 employees to the Office of the President’s Senior Advisor and using them for his personal work. He is a close associate of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe and has held several key positions in the United National Party.
