Bondholders agree to debt restructuring.

Creditors have expressed their agreement to restructure international sovereign bonds. Accordingly, it has been possible to restructure a debt of 17.5 billion dollars.

Debt restructuring has been discussed with the international bondholders as well as the China Development Bank and the $3.3 billion loan received from the China Development Bank has also been included in the restructuring.

Along with this, the country has received a relief of 40.3 percent of the existing debt. This will give Sri Lanka a significant debt relief and enable financial stability through reduced interest payments.
