Even though it has been 4 days (2) since the conclusion of the Asia Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament, foreign media reports that the victorious Indian team has not received the trophy or the medals awarded to the players.
A special meeting was held in Dubai today to reach a final agreement on whether the trophy or the winners’ medals will be given to the Indian team. The meeting was attended by several people including Indian Cricket Vice President Rajiv Shukla via Zoom technology. It is reported that this meeting, which was chaired by Asian Cricket Council President Mohsin Naqvi, has ended without a final agreement.
India won the Asian Cup final and India refused to accept the title from Asian Cricket Council President Mohsin Naqvi. Mohsin Naqvi will also be the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Mohsin Naqvi, posting on his ‘X’ account regarding the trophy being handed over to India, said that he was ready to hand over the trophy to India that day and is still ready to do so.
“As the ACC chairman, I was ready to hand over the trophy that day. I am still ready. If they really want the trophy, come to the ACC office and get it from me. They are welcome to do so,” Naqvi said on his ‘X’ account.
