Another prison sentence for Imran and his wife because the marriage was illegal.

According to foreign media reports, a special court of that Pakisthan gave a decision yesterday deciding that the marriage of Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi is illegal. According to the verdict, Imran and Bushra was sentenced to seven years in prison and fined $18,000.

The complaint related to this case has been filed by Bushra Bibi’s ex-husband. Imran Khan married Bushra Bibi in 2018, he claims in the complaint that the marriage was un-Islamic and illegal.

He had said in the related complaint that Bushra Bibi divorced him and married Imran Khan before the due date and that marriage was anti-Islamic. According to Islamic law, a woman must take some time to re marry after her husband’s death or divorce.

A court was set up for the case in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, where Imran Khan is currently serving his sentence. Yesterday’s prison sentence is the third prison sentence given to Imran Khan in less than a week.

On Tuesday, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison for leaking state documents. He was also sentenced in the case related to embezzlement of gifts from the Saudi royal family.

Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party rejects the court rulings, saying they are purely political. 71-year-old Imran Khan has also said that these verdicts are political.

Imran Khan married British national Jemima Goldsmith in 1995 and from that marriage he has two sons. This was followed by a second marriage in 2015 to journalist and former BBC weatherman Reham Khan, which quickly fell apart. He remarried Bushra Bibi in 2018.

Imran Khan is the first cricket captain who managed to win the World Cup for Pakistan.
