The Mount Lavinia Headquarters Police have now commenced an investigation into the incident in which a police officer on duty at the Mount Lavinia Court premises allegedly assaulted a lawyer on the 10th.
The Mount Lavinia Police Station has arrested the police officer on a complaint that a police officer assaulted a lawyer during an incident that occurred while a lawyer’s car was being taken out and he has been remanded in custody until the 13th after being produced before the court.
Another senior lawyer who accompanied the lawyer who was allegedly assaulted has commenced an investigation into the incident in which the police officer who was involved in the assault threatened the police officer and used criminal force to commit the crime.
Further investigations are being carried out by the Mount Lavinia Police Station under the supervision of the Mount Lavinia Divisional Senior Superintendent of Police.
