Following reports that a fishing vessel which departed from the Kudawella area in Matara has gone missing, the Air Force and the Navy have launched operations to locate the craft. The Navy states that there were four fishermen on board the vessel.
The fishing vessel in question had set out for fishing activities on the 21st, and the fishermen on board last communicated with the vessel’s owner on the 23rd.
However, following this, contact with the vessel was lost. Acting on a complaint lodged by the vessel’s owner, the Navy with the assistance of the Air Force has launched an operation to locate the vessel and the fishermen.
