Adani does not want money from America to build Colombo Port

India’s Adani and John Keells, which are working on the development of the western terminal of the Colombo Port, have withdrawn their request for money from the US International Development Cooperation Agency, a company called Adani Port and Special Economy Zone says.

The company has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange of India that it expects to earn the capital required for this internally. Therefore, the request for money from America has been withdrawn.

America was ready to provide $ 533 million for the Colombo Port project. This $ 533 million was to be provided as a loan.

Adani was accused of deceiving US investors by accepting a $250 million bribe in a renewable energy project, and despite those allegations, the US International Cooperation Agency was prepared to provide funding for the Colombo Port project.
