Yesterday’s International Women’s Day was celebrated in almost every country. A number of such events were also held in Sri Lanka and SriLankan Airlines also joined it by holding an attractive celebration.
SriLankan flight UL131, which left Katunayake for Trichy, India yesterday morning, was piloted by an all-female crew. Captain Chamika Rupasinghe, First Flight Officer Bimalee Jeevandara, Chief of Flight Staff Roshani Dissanayake, Cabin Supervisor Upuli Warnakula and flight attendants Lakmini Dissanayake, Jayakalani Kinson and Harshi Walpola Kankanamalege were included in the “Women’s Flight” which was held in celebration of Women’s Day.
A few years ago, Indian Airlines also organized a similar flight to Sri Lanka to celebrate Women’s Day.
