Businessman Dhammika Perera has issued a warning regarding fake videos created using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology that are currently circulating on social media and promoting various investment schemes.
In an official statement, Mr. Perera’s office clarified that he has no connection whatsoever to these videos, the investment platforms featured within them, or the claims being made. The statement further notes that these videos are a malicious attempt to mislead the public.
The public is urged to report such content to the respective social media platforms, to the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (Sri Lanka CERT) via report@cert.gov.lk, or to the police.
Additionally, his office has advised the public to rely solely on Dhammika Perera’s official social media accounts for accurate information.
