According to the Disaster Management Center, floodgates of several reservoirs have been opened due to the current bad weather and heavy rainfall in the catchment areas.
It is mentioned in an announcement that 6 sluice gates of Deduruoya Reservoir in Kurunegala district have been opened, and in addition, four sluice gates have been opened in Tabbowa Lake.
Also, two sluice gates at Kala Lake, one sluice gate at Kukule Ganga reservoir and three sluice gates at Polgolla Dam have also been opened.
