According to police sources, a school student shot and killed himself in Ampara area with an unauthorized firearm in his house. A 15-year-old student resident of Ampara Mayadunna area has committed suicide.
It has been revealed in preliminary investigations that after coming home from the school, this student went to a place behind the house and shot himself. The police said that the shooting was done with a 12-bore firearm in the house.
The reason for the shooting has not been ascertained. Ampara police are conducting further investigations.
