On a special invitation from the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) General Secretary Tilvin Silva is on an official visit to India.
A special meeting was held between him and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan (11) in Thiruvananthapuram. Several ministers from Kerala also participated in the meeting, and the two sides focused on the remarkable socio-economic progress made by Kerala.
In particular, there was an extensive exchange of views on the measures taken to increase literacy in Kerala to 100%, the programs implemented to eradicate extreme poverty, and public welfare projects.
Strengthening relations between parties During this visit, Mr. Tilvin Silva met and held discussions with the General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Mr. M.A. Baby, as well as members of the Central Committee.
