A plan to kill Namal and drag it into the underworld.

There is a reasonable suspicion that the government is trying to implicate MP Namal Rajapaksa in a drug-related offense by causing some harm to his life and dragging him into the underworld, says Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna General Secretary Attorney Sagara Kariyawasam.

“I am telling the people of this country that this could be part of a very dangerous conspiracy,” he said. He said this while participating in a media briefing held today.

He also said that not a single container with a red label was released from customs without being inspected even during the heavy traffic during the Covid period.

He further commented on the matter and said the following.

“The most serious and dangerous allegation in the history of this country is the release of 323 containers with red labels without any inspection. The period when the customs at the port were very congested was the Covid period. During that period, the customs did not release a single container with red labels without inspection.
For the first time in the history of Sri Lanka, 323 containers were released by creating a fake congestion at the customs. The Customs Officers’ Association states that 323 containers with red labels that should not have been released were released. Not only that, but in addition to 323, a large number of similar containers with red labels have been released in the same period.

MP Archuna had stated in Parliament that these containers contained weapons that Prabhakaran could not have brought into Sri Lanka. In addition, these containers contained drugs, prohibited substances and money. Various suspicions arose. We have filed a complaint regarding this. But to date, there has been no response.
