The doctors of Karapitiya Hospital have started a continuous strike today (05) from 8 am. It was protesting the actions of a specialist in the cancer unit of that hospital.
Dr. Asanka Konara, secretary of the Government Medical Officers Association, says that the doctors of Karapitiya Hospital were on strike earlier regarding this problem and the authorities did not provide proper solutions to the problem.
The Director of Karapitiya Hospital, Specialist Dr. SPUM Ranga stated that the Ministry of Health has already arranged for the transfer of the specialist who has been accused to Maharagama Hospital.
