Organized crime gang leader Sanjeewa Kumara Samararatne, also known as Ganemullae Sanjeewa, has been shot dead inside a courtroom at the Aluth Kade Court Complex in Colombo. He was admitted to hospital after the attack but was reportedly already dead, according to reports.
Ganemullae Sanjeewa, who is currently in remand custody, was being brought to the Aluth Kade Court Complex for a court case when the shooting occurred.
The killer disguised himself as a lawyer and police investigations are underway. Police say the revolver suspected of being used in the shooting was also found nearby.
