According to police sources, a dead body of a woman was found floating in a garbage canal in Grandpass police domain yesterday afternoon.
Her identity has not yet been revealed and the body has been kept at the Colombo National Hospital.
The deceased woman is between 45 and 50 years old and her height is about 4 feet 09 inches. She is wearing a red dress with yellow flowers. Further investigations are underway regarding the incident.
