A challenge to the government to immediately reveal the fuel price formula.

Former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka says that fuel prices have now fallen by five percent in many countries of the world except Sri Lanka due to the decline in fuel prices in the world market.

Currently, a liter of petrol can be downloaded from the Colombo Port for Rs. 220 and a liter of diesel for Rs. 235 without any tax, but he says that the government is still exploiting the people by selling fuel at a price exceeding Rs. 400.

Pointing out that there has been no significant increase in the price of oil in the world market since April 8, he says that the government can clearly reduce fuel prices, but if it does not do so, it should reveal under which price formula fuel is being sold at prices exceeding Rs. 400.

He says that Trafigura was overcharged by Rs. 98 per liter of diesel and another company was overcharged by Rs. 120. He says that the government, which is committing such large-scale fraud, is trying to suppress and imprison those who criticize the government’s failures, but he is not afraid of it.
