An accident occurred when two private buses collided head-on near Talalla Vajirawansa Mawatha on the Matara-Tangalla road. The number of people injured and hospitalized in the accident has reportedly increased to 40.
25 of them have been admitted to the Matara General Hospital while the rest are receiving treatment at the Bathigama District Hospital, police sources say.
A private bus plying between Galle and Ampara and a private bus plying between Tangalle and Matara met with an accident at around 7.45 this morning (26).
