34,500 families are deprived of drinking water due to the ongoing drought.

The Disaster Management Department has announced that 115,586 people belonging to 35,169 families have been affected by the ongoing dry weather conditions. The department says that these people are spread across 35 Divisional Secretariat Divisions in seven districts.

In light of this situation, the National Disaster Relief Services Center has taken steps to continuously distribute water to people facing drinking water problems. Accordingly, drinking water is being distributed to 113,406 people belonging to 34,628 families in seven districts.
