1000 dead in Myanmar earthquake. Childbirth on the road. 10 deaths reported from Thailand

Foreign media reports that the earthquake that struck yesterday has severely damaged the city of Mandalay, the second largest city in Myanmar.

Many buildings have been destroyed, and the bodies of the dead are now piled up in the city. In addition, it is reported that the country’s hospitals are full of injured people.

It is reported that some people are being treated outside hospitals due to the still existing risk of aftershocks. After the main earthquake that occurred yesterday afternoon, Myanmar has also been affected by 14 aftershocks until this morning.

However, it is reported that due to the political instability in Myanmar, the updating of information and the provision of relief to the victims are being delayed. A Chinese disaster relief team has already arrived in Myanmar to assist in rescue operations.

The earthquake was felt in Bangkok, Thailand, and China’s Yunnan Province. A 30-story government building under construction in Bangkok collapsed, trapping nearly 100 workers in the rubble. The death toll from the earthquake in Thailand has risen to 10,000, according to foreign media.

Hospitals in Bangkok have also been evacuated due to the risk of aftershocks. Meanwhile, a pregnant mother gave birth on a street in Bangkok, according to foreign media.
