Mount Lavinia Magistrate Kanchana Neranjala Silva imposed a fine of Rs. 5,000 on film and teledrama actor Vishwa Kodikara after he pleaded guilty to the charge of possessing cocaine.
The Magistrate sternly admonished the actor and warned that if he were to be caught committing a similar offense in the future, he would be referred for rehabilitation.
Weliwatta Police had arrested five individuals, including Vishwa Kodikara, at the Wellawatte beach yesterday. The suspects were produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court today, where the fine was imposed.
