A meeting was held between Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who is in Sri Lanka, and Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya at the Parliament premises today (09).
The Prime Minister expressed her deep gratitude for the continued support provided by the Government of India to Sri Lanka in the face of national difficulties as well as the devastating effects of Cyclone Ditva.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the relationship between Sri Lanka and India is a long-standing friendship that goes beyond diplomatic and economic cooperation and is nourished by cultural, historical and religious ties. Several MoUs are also scheduled to be signed between the two countries during the visit of the Indian Defense Minister.
