“I had to do politics with the people who killed my father.” Dharmalingam Siddharth makes a controversial revelation

Former Member of Parliament Dharmalingam Siddharth has made a controversial revelation about his political collaboration with those who killed his father. He made this revelation at a memorial service for his father and former politician V. Dharmalingam in Jaffna.

The 41st commemoration of V. Dharmalingam, a prominent leader of the Ilankai Tamil Arasu Katchi Party who was abducted and murdered in the Thawadi area in 1985, was held on Tuesday at the site where he was killed. One of the speakers said that it is not yet clear who the real killers of Dharmalingam were.

However, the leader of the Plot organization, his son Dharmalingam Siddharth, took to the stage and corrected the story, saying that his father and M. Alalasundaram were killed by the rival Telo organization.

Dharmalingam Siddharth said that his supporters often ask him how he could join hands with the gang that killed his father and that he replied, “It was the Ilankai Tamil Arasu Party that showed us how to work together even with the enemy for common goals.”

“In 1989, the LTTE killed our strong leader A. Amirthalingam, but a few years later, the Ilankai Tamil Arasu Party worked together with the LTTE. That was a great example for me,” Dharmalingam Siddharth further said.

Dharmalingam Siddharth, who represents the PLOT organization, is currently a key figure in the Democratic Tamil National Alliance, which includes the TELO organization.
