Sri Lanka Cricket to be subject to RTI Act .

Since Sri Lanka Cricket has been subject to the Right to Information Act (RTI), the Chairman of the Cricket Transformation Committee, Eran Wickramaratne, said that steps will be taken to provide information requested by the public.

Eran Wickramaratne, who pointed out that the Cricket Board had previously refused to provide information requested by the public, saying that it was not subject to the RTI Act, states that this attitude has now completely changed.

He states that greater transparency is needed to dispel doubts about the governance and financial affairs of the cricket body. In addition, he says that if accurate information is made public, many baseless allegations and problems will not arise.

He said that his future plans include promoting cricket from the school level, developing stadiums and training facilities, and that there will be no influence of politicians or administrators on national team selection.
