Rumesh Tharanga has won the first place in the men’s javelin throw event at the ‘Zurich’ stage of the Diamond League Athletics Tournament held in Switzerland this morning (28).
For this victory, Rumesh threw the javelin a distance of 92.07 meters, which is the second time in his sports career that he has thrown the javelin beyond the 92-meter mark.
Rumesh is the current world javelin thrower ranked first and the first Sri Lankan to achieve this status.
