The Public Health Inspectors Association says that it has decided to intensify its trade union action from 8.00 am today (24).
The Public Health Inspectors Association initiated this trade union action last week against the transfer of Public Health Inspector B.H. Migasdeniya due to the illegal activities taking place at the Health Office of the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake, and it is reported that no proper response has been received from the Ministry of Health so far.
Accordingly, as per the decision of the Working Committee of the Association, it has been decided to completely suspend the provision of all types of data and reports provided to the administration by all Public Health Inspectors and Administrative Public Health Inspectors throughout the island, effective from today. In addition, the Association has also decided to suspend all types of data systems updating.
Accordingly, the Public Health Inspectors Association strongly emphasizes that no data that is not received during this period will ever be updated in the data systems.
They also request the authorities to immediately cancel the arbitrary transfer of B.H. Migasdeniya and conduct a fair investigation into it.
In addition, the Association states that it strongly condemns the attempt to reduce the approved number of Public Health Inspectors at the Colombo Port Health Office and the Katunayake Airport Health Office.
