The Disaster Management Center says that 81,865 people belonging to 25,628 families living in 23 Divisional Secretariat Divisions in 7 districts of the island have been affected by the impact of El Nino. Due to this situation, the Disaster Management Center has also taken steps to distribute drinking water to 20 Divisional Secretariat Divisions.
Accordingly, the Center stated that steps have been taken to distribute drinking water to 72,153 individuals in 23,048 families.
Accordingly, the majority of drinking water has been distributed to the Monaragala District, where steps have been taken to distribute drinking water to 33,023 individuals in 10,264 families in 7 Divisional Secretariat Divisions.
