The number of deaths due to dengue fever has increased to 68 so far in 2026. The latest report released by the National Dengue Control Unit shows that the total number of dengue patients identified is 91,059.
52.98% of the total number of patients reported (48,244 patients) have been identified from the Western Province, and the Gampaha District has been the most affected at the district level. 19,406 patients have been reported there, which is 21.31% of the total number of patients.
Also, the highest number of patients has been reported in July, which is 29,971. The number of patients identified in the first 10 days of August is 5,714.
