Former Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, who was arrested and presented to the Court on charges of recruiting 4 employees to the Office of the President’s Senior Advisor and using them for personal work, has been remanded until the 18th of this month.
This order was issued after he was arrested this afternoon (5) by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption and was later produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.
