Rosie is questioned about providing relief to low-income earners during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Former Mayor Rosie Senanayake was summoned before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to investigate alleged corruption and fraud in the Colombo Municipal Council this morning (17).

She told the media that she had been summoned before the Commission to inquire into the program to provide food vouchers to low-income and needy people through Sathosa, a government agency, during the COVID-19 pandemic and economic crisis.

“Tell the people why I was called. During the pandemic and the economic crisis, we provided food vouchers to the poor through Sathosa. I was called to answer their questions about the program,” she said.
