Former IGP C.D. Wickramaratne has died from a gunshot wound. It is reported that the death may have been a suicide.
The incident took place at the former IGP’s residence in Athurugiriya.
C.D. Wickramaratne, who served in the police force for over three decades, is the 35th IGP of the country.
